23 Summary
I'm really glad I've finished 2.0. I learned a lot and can (hopefully) help customers with their questions. I've connected a few dots on the technology and understand when people speak of the different ones. This has been a good learning experience. Too bad everything changes so fast. I'm already behind.
22 Digital audiobooks
This particular application we should all know. If we don't, shame on us. More and more titles are available this way AND customers ask us for assistance in getting these juicy reads. Yeah, us!
Weather podcast
Farmers depend on weather reports, so as Farmchick, I subscribed to the nation weather service podcast. I'll know ahead of time when those thunderboomers are comin'.
There are interesting podcasts out there, but this particular technology is not that useful to me.

YouTube
I think this site is fascinating. I've watched Susan Boyle win; I've seen cats doing hilarious things and laughed so hard; I've watched tutorials. This is one area that can be utilized by libraries. I've watched fingerplay tutorials so I'd know the tune and the movements for storytimes. Flannel board stories are easy to learn as well as string games. YouTube is a blast.
Award winners
It's a little funky to be able to manipulate photos and place Demi Moore's hair on Obama's head. But it's very, very disturbing. I learned to do this in the Hairmixer application.
I also looked at what can be done when you create your own comic strip. I think the average lay-person should probably not be doing this. Boring. The application is Comiqs.
Craigslist, however is a huge success story all by itself. Almosts no one looks in the newspaper anymore.

Wikis
Seems to me that wikis are useful in informal situations. I like the idea of a conference wiki because things change so quickly and multiple people can access and add. It doesn't seem helpful for the library sites, however. All that information for the library can be on their website and look cleaner with a better layout. But that's just me.

Future of 2.0
OCLC plans on making Worldcat searchable by anyone using 2.0 technology. That's pretty great. One world catalog accessible to any Joe Blow. I like it.

Technorati
If I ever need help making a plywood ukele OR if I'm into kitchen gadgets and want to view blogs of a similar madness, I know to go to Technorati. One of the demonstration videos on Technorati mentioned that the author checks the site at least 7 times a day. Well, I've got better things to do...there's a new kitchen store I want to visit.
13. Delicious, tagging
A tinyURL bookmark looks to be a handy thing. And this bookmark never falls out.

Green chickens
This one was hard for me to get to an end spot. My page helped me. Someone on staff needs to know this stuff. The link to my search engine: http://rollyo.com/farmchick/green_chickens/
And life goes on.

LibraryThing
There are zillions of groups on Library Thing. Well, maybe just thousands. I'm wonderin' how long it would take to find the perfect group for me.
Image generators
I loved this creepy looking pumpkin room. Can you tell my pumpkin is in the Fairfield library?
Finding feeds
Whoooaa. There are so many subjects. All the feed directories are great. About the only subject not covered is naked mole-rats.
Please feel free to correct me.

Way, cool. I put Dereth's dream bathroom on a magazine cover. She may get her bathroom yet, as the remodel is getting larger in scope. In any case, I loved tweaking the colors and fonts in this app. This was just one fun way to really waste a half hour. There are tons of things to keep you from your work.

There's a very real reason why this blogspot is titled "totally blank." A white page freezes my brain like a wet tongue on a frozen flagpole.
One of the habits of successful lifelong learners is having the confidence in yourself to be able to learn and enjoy the process. This isn't hard for me. What's hard is having the desire to use technology when I've gotten along perfectly well without it. I suppose I need a reason to learn.
I might need to teach this to someone else and that's reason enough for me. This is a very good stretching exercise for me.
